Free Consultation: Having taken that all important first step and deciding which package you would like, we begin with a free consultation which can take place over the phone or online using Zoom.  During this call we will establish who you would like to research and what information you currently hold.  A name and date are essential, even if they may only be an approximation.  Any birth, marriage or death certifactes you already have will help the process significantly.  Information on siblings, spouses, children, whilst not essential are all helpful, especially if you're researching a common surname.   I will also set up realistic expectations as to how far we are likely to get.  Pre 1855, we're reliant on the survival of Old Parish Registers.  Some Kirk Session clerks kept meticulously detailed records, others recorded the bare minimum.
